Battle & Exploration: Balance Testing

And we’re back after a 2 week silence. Nothing special happened in that time, I just didn’t have a lot to show as I planned. I don’t want to go too long without posting an update so I’ll give you what I’ve got.

Most of the time was spent working on the battle and exploration. I’ve made a small amount of progress due to distractions from other hobbies. I’m about half way through the second year. In the next week I hope to get through the second year completely. Below I’ve uploaded test footage of a main boss battle that happens during the second year.

As I mentioned before, I am only half way through the second year. This battle actually happens halfway in the second year. What you see above is the weakest I expect the player to be when they fight that boss. Even though I struggled quite a bit I still managed to win the battle. I don’t expect the player to struggle as much as me but this is pretty much the battle difficulty I was looking for.
I am achieving a sort of flow as I work on these maps and battles. Going forward I expect to accelerate my production. The one thing that will slow me down is all of the unique events I have spread out, also, any additional dialogue I decide to add.
Here is a small update on the steam situation. I signed up for the program and the response has been slow. Much more slower than I expected. I feel foolish for not doing this much, much, sooner. Like, years ago. I was hoping to have everything completed and updated by now, but I could be looking at an additional two weeks before I even get accepted. Oh boy, I have no one to blame but myself.
Okay, that’s it. This is a short update but I’ll get back to providing some X/twitter post again. I’ll talk to you guys again in the next update.
