The game testing is still going strong. The above image is where I’m currently at in my game testing. A lot of the footage from the latest major update is footage from my game testing session. So far, I have about 12 hours clocked in game. 10 of those hours were the first year alone. Yikes!

Up until late last week, I’ve been working tirelessly testing the game, fixing bugs, repairing systems, making balance changes and everything else in between. It wasn’t until I finished the major update video where I felt compelled to take some time off.

The changes I’ve made to the game since playing through the first year have been pretty drastic. I’ve added a shop menu to the city map for convenience. Now you can move between the city and shopping instead of having to go back to the home screen. I’ve also added the ability to go back to the world map after exploring. (before you just went directly back home)

The first year suffered from an issue of low funds, so I doubled the wage you received from working. I also added a dedicated event called Walk City that has a chance of giving you increased mood/condition, rare items or cash at the price of spending Vitality instead of money like with the Infirmary and Church. Walking Around gives you a chance to increase both mood and condition.

The budgeting system, as well as the item favorite system were just broken. I miscalculated the values of each item so you were capable of maxing out the mood and condition easily. I’ve reduce the total value by 4 and moved the additional effect of favorite/hated items to the end of the calculation. Now fav/hated items should have an even greater effect. With these changes, managing mood and condition should be more gradual and inline with the other game functions. (I hope!)

Outside of the daughter raising portion of the game, I’ve made some changes to the dialogue and enemies from first year. I’ve made them a bit stronger. The rest is just an endless list of bug fixing.

Next week will be more of the same. More game testing and more bug fixing. I don’t believe I’ll need to make anymore drastic changes. Time will tell.

That’s all for this week, stay well everyone.
