Rookies! Never give up on your dreams!!!

So for some reason or another I decided to watch the japanese high school drama Rookies. I knew it wasn’t anime or animated at all, I just wanted to see how a japanese drama would play out. As the story goes, a high school baseball team gets into a fight which disables them from going to the finals, or Koshien as they call it. The team gets kick out for the summer and as a result they become a delinquent bunch. Kawato Koichi (the one in the image below) shows up to the school with the goal of helping these students dreams come true no matter what.
He discovers that these delinquents are in dire need of guidance and try’s his best to help them rekindle the fire which was lost in the last season they had.
Ultra extreme melodramatic is the best phrase for describing this show. If there is such a thing as a manly soap opera this would be it. With practically each scene you can feel the emotion of each character as they speak, especially the teacher Kawato Koichi. And they do this a lot, and I mean A LOT. Unfortunately it’s only 11 episodes long ranging roughly below an hour each with the first being a 2 hour introduction. I recommend this gem to anyone who likes to live on the edge of their seats, or someone who’s bored with my site atm. ^^
