It happened to me at beginning of the year, and it was a complete hell…

Even now I'm still running virus scans. I feel like a obsessive compulsive cleaner freak.

Well luckly I’ve never had a virus take out my system, but had the MBR go boom a couple of times on me. Luckly Linux boot disks work wonders.

Linux huh.

I inserted a second HD due to my original HD being unable to log in at all. (yes, it was that bad) I installed XP on that new HD and used my old HD as a slave to manually fix the problem. Now that the problem is fixed, I'm thinking of trying out other OS's on my new HD.

Can we say ubuntu?

Hopefully won’t happen again right ^^;

It happened before and it will happen again....

This is what time has taught me......

Two greatest and free piece of anti-spyware/anti-virus software you’ll ever want to install on a Windows based machine are Malwarebytes and Super Anti-spyware.

I haven't heard of Super Anti-spyware, I'll look into that one.

You would not believe how many client workstations I've saved from complete re-format by running these programs!

But yea, sucks to hear about spending money to fix your system. Hopefully won't happen again right ^^;;
