The question I’m bringing up here is, what do you think of non-japanese anime artist?
I know fans tend to label artist who draw anime that lack japanese origin as less worthy, or not worth the attention. And it doesn’t help that a strong majority in today’s anime fandom draw anime in a extremely amateur and exclusively fanart fashion.
I, personally, tend to stray away from fanart. It’s not that I don’t like drawing it, it’s just that my top property when I draw is originality. Which is harder for me considering I take into account of not only the other non-J. anime artist but the actual J. artist themselves. I also strive for authentic results. I want my art to be indistinguishable from a professional J. anime artist. At the same time, creating my own style that will be accepted universally.
So I ask you again, what do you think of non-japanese anime artist? Do you accept them as the real deal? Or consider them mere copy’s of the greater original?
And those of you too lazy to give your opinion in words.
What do you think of non-japanese anime artist?
