Hideaki Anno Daicon IV
By Dre | December 27, 2008
Yes, it’s another stroll down the “random” alley. This time it’s a stop at our favorite time waster youtube. I present to you an anime classic that I unfortunately just discovered myself but fell completely in love with it. Since I’m not too familiar with the background of the video on trail, I will just quote like I’ve never quoted before.
Japan SF Convention 1983 in Osaka (Daicon IV) opening animation by Daicon Film (indie of university, origin of Gainax). Warrior is Clarisse d’Cagliostro, and Japanese legendary work like Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (by Hayao Miyazaki). Original of Japanese famous TV drama Densha Otoko (Train Man) title sequence animation; remake edition by staff of those days.
So basicly, it is a music video using the song Twilight by Electric Light Orchestra which was completed for the anime convention Daicon by 4 guys who would eventually create the animation company
And if that wasn’t enough, the hit j-drama

I took a higher rez version of the Daicon IV and put the update audio to it. I’m not exactly sure whats happened over the many years but I was able to get the song to sync only in 2 places. The beginning and the end. But nevertheless the quality is there.
