アイ舞ミーGR aka A kick ass free 2D figher!!

Every once and a while I like to stretch into the far reaches of the internet and see what lies beyond. At one point during this act of stretching I came across this lovely game (which was still incomplete at the time) and gave it a go. Fast forward a few years later and what do I see now?
アイ舞ミーGR or as babelfish translates “Eye dance me GR” is a 2D fighter by the awesome guy(s) at http://www.twin.ne.jp/~zankuro/ whom used the 2d fighter maker engine “2D Fighter Maker 2nd” to create this over the top all girl/animal/ummm….thing fighting game.
At the start menu, you are greeted with 2 options, 1 player and and 2 players. That is all. But don’t feel blue about that, as you can see in the above screen shot. This game has A LOT of players. Some of them can’t be seen because they are hidden. The characters are a mix between fan work and original. More on this later.
There is some type of a story with each character but it will not do you any good to sit through it if you don’t understand japanese.(the game is indeed all in japanese) Press the “A” key for super skipping
action!!!11
If you haven’t noticed already, these are characters from the anime Azumanga Daioh. I’m not entirely sure what other characters are from what other anime but you can point them out if you like.
And yes, I am getting my ass handed to me.
The more “original” characters range from ninja’s to androids to even this stick figure guy. This game is all over the place.
Yes, one of the characters is a pole…..
I shit you not, you can fight as a pole….
In between each fight you are greeted with some kind of a eye candy or the like.
No game is complete without a giant penguin in the foreground.
Yeah…
I think you get the idea. The game is pretty damn fun and make a great time killer. The down size is, it doesn’t offer to much else besides 1 and 2 player fighting and the file size sits at 98 Mb. So if your one of the unfortunate souls who is still stuck with dial up, get ready for the long wait. The actual graphics aren’t too mind blowing, but that’s due to the limit of the game maker that was used. Not to mention the game was started years ago.
